Natalie Dunbar is an associate of Pivot LLP. She grew up on the west coast, born near the Lillooet reserve, and got a bachelor's degree from UBC. She ventured to Manitoba to complete her law degree, where she focused on clinical criminal courses and charter work. By 1st year law school, Natalie was in court regularly working for Legal Aid Manitoba and working for the Legal Aid clinic at the University as well as acting as director of Pro Bono Services in Manitoba. As a Legal Aid staff lawyer, she did extensive criminal and prison law work as well as some mental health law.

Before, during and after law school, Natalie volunteered her time with a variety of organizations over the years including; the SPCA (she is an enormous animal lover), John Howard Society (she has worked with convicts as well as ex-convicts), Elizabeth Fry (she is aware of the issues women face in the criminal justice system), the United Way and AIDWYC (Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted). Through Kali Shiva Aids Society, she helped prepare a legal rights manual for youth. In fact, in her first two years of practice, she worked extensively in Youth Court.

Natalie has worked in Provincial court as well as B.C. Supreme Court and Manitoba Queen's Bench. She has worked on cases ranging from simple theft to murder and has a great deal of experience in drug matters as she worked briefly as a federal prosecutor. She welcomes cases in the area of criminal law and prison law. As well, she welcomes clients with mental health issues as she has quite a bit of knowledge in that area.

Natalie spends her personal time at Crescent beach with her dog and husband, in all kinds of weather. She reads obscure and classic novels as a slight obsession and has always, always wanted to practice law and help those who are having difficulty helping themselves. She believes that everyone deserves the same treatment and everyone deserves justice.
